International high school exchange students are coming to study in the Lodi area during the 2012-13 school year. These students will integrate themselves into a local family with the goal of experiencing American culture as an American high school student does. In turn they will provide insight into their own culture. STS Foundation, a nonprofit student exchange organization, has connected exchange students with host families for 20 years.
Two students this year are coming from Denmark and Norway.
The boy from Denmark is 16 and from a small town. He loves to play tennis and coaches younger children after school. He enjoys skiing with his family and would love to learn to snowboard during his stay in the US.
The girl from Norway is also 16 years old and has been taking dance lessons since she was a child. She loves spending time on the coast with her family. She is a motivated student who hopes to be a midwife some day.
They both will have their own spending money and health insurance. The host family provides a separate bed, family meals and a loving and safe environment.
