Call it one of life's little lessons. Only Maxine Ellis just wishes her life lessons didn't mean losing her SL500 Mercedes-Benz to a couple of slick thieves.

"I swear I feel like the biggest dope," Ellis said.

You can list your car in the auto trader, tell the slick handsome young man "no" to all his questions, let him take off thinking he is duping another customer, then call the police and let the GPS tracking device do its job and then this slick con artist thief will be caught and sent to prison where he belongs. Perhaps that will cool his heals for awhile. Souns like this young couple just want to impress their friends without working hard to earn the money to buy the Mercedes.

Mercedes, mine, too, and I drive a three year old Toyota. It's got an engine immobilizer system and tracking device also activated by cell phone remotely.

You are right on that. If you have such a nice luxury car you need to have extra features to protect from losers like that. If not, that's like leaving a diamond in the middle of the road for anyone to take.

Wow, what a horrible situation. The poor woman was just being a trusting person. Now of days you cannot trust people like this. I would never have let somebody test drive a car like that without me in it. Well good luck.

to Mercedes for Sale...sounds like you are all equipped...you have to go the extra mile when you have a vehicle of that price...let's just hope your car stays safe and sound!

I think I'll advetrise my Mercedes on Auto Trader. Mine has LOJACK and a separate GPS tracker as well as the ability to shut off the ignition system, fuel system, lock all the doors remotely through my cell phone, and allow me to see and hear him with my onboard video camera. I can also talk back to them. Lets go.
