Annual Strawberry Festival this weekend in Galt

The Galt District Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its annual Strawberry Festival this weekend. It runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 890 Caroline Ave.

In addition to sampling strawberry smoothies, strawberry shortcake and 30 other strawberry items in Strawberry Alley, there will be entertainment including live bands, a carnival, a car and motorcycle display and a dog show.

Festivities will kick off at 7 a.m. Saturday with the annual pancake breakfast at the Chabolla Center, 630 Chabolla Ave. Proceeds will benefit the Liberty Ranch High School cheer squad. To purchase tickets, contact Thiriza at 209-890-9141 or Barbara at 209-810-0712.

A 5K run-walk begins at 8 a.m. Saturday and will benefit the Liberty Ranch High School track and football teams. For more information, call Sandra Cannon at 916-208-1593 or Reid Tileston and Jason Megna at Anytime Fitness, 209-744-9400.
