Annual Senior Awareness Day to be held today

"Seniors Leading the Parade" will be the theme of the 34th annual Senior Awareness Day today at Micke Grove Park.

Sponsored by the San Joaquin County Human Services Agency, the event is designed to provide awareness to seniors, their families and caregivers. From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be over 125 booths offering free information to seniors.

The event will include a 1 1/2 mile wellness walk with a poker theme, health screenings, Bingo, an art show, a classic car show and live entertainment by Joni Morris.

There will be a free shuttle service from the main parking lot to and from the event. Admission to the event as well as parking is free. There is a $5 entrance fee for the wellness walk, which includes a T-shirt. Food can also be purchased. For more information, call 209-468-2202.
