Tomás Juan Aguirre, 49, was arrested Saturday morning after allegedly punching a 40-year-old woman twice in the mouth, causing her to have a swollen lip and cuts on her lower right lip, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department.

The incident was reported at 7:57 a.m. Saturday on Highway 88, just north of Kettleman Lane, according to a sheriff's report.

Road closure on Harney Lane east of Lodi

Harney Lane will be closed from 6 a.m. until noon on Wednesday so that Central California Traction Co. workers can replace concrete panels. The panels broke due to heavy trucks speeding across the tracks, according to Dave Buccolo, a traction company worker. Detour signs will be posted prior to the closure.

I certainly hope the developer and his contractor are going to pay for the cost of the damages. Those transfer loads of baserock have been either sitting or creeping slowly there while waiting their turns to get into Reynolds Ranch to build the roads to get to the BC/BS construction site. Truck after truck after truck after truck. Sometimes lined up as far as you can see. The taxpayer shouldn't be liable for repair caused by carelessness. Those fully loaded doubles cracked those panels.
