Republican Ricky Gill of Lodi has been endorsed by the Associated Builders and Contractors.

"Ricky has deep roots in the community, a strong commitment to free and fair competition in the construction industry and a viable plan to create new economic opportunities here in San Joaquin County," Dave Lagorio of Lodi-based Diede Construction said of Gill.

Gill is running against incumbent Jerry McNerney, D-Stockton, for the 9th Congressional District seat.

Did Ricky get this endorsement because of his vast business experience as a small business owner or because of his parents connections in the local community?

I am also wondering why Ricky has not bought a house yet in either Lodi or Stockton. As Mr. Gill is a small business owner, I am sure he has the resources to do so! He is registered to vote at his parents address!

Study for the bar Ricky, get your first full time job, buy a house and then run for public office in 8-10 years!

It is not funny that you view representing the 9th district of California as an entry level job.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
