Trustees for the Galt Joint Union High School District will be asked at tonight’s regular meeting to approve borrowing money for the current school year in a low-interest state loan program accessed by school districts. Due to cash deferrals, the district is expected to overspend in the spring.
It is seeking an amount not to exceed $5 million for the 2012-13 school year. Last year, the district took out just under $3 million.
Also on the agenda, the board will be asked to approve the 2011-12 district audit report and review associated student body expenses for all three high schools.
In closed session, trustees are scheduled to hold negotiations with a number of employee groups, including management, classified and certificated unions.
The board meets today at 6:30 p.m. in the Galt City Council chambers, 380 Civic Drive, Galt.
