Due to the increasing number of burglaries in Lodi, police have added officers during the weekend, according to Sgt. David Griffin. The extra officers netted two arrests in as many nights.
Steven Williams, 25, of Lodi, was arrested at 3:45 a.m. Sunday when he was caught coming out of a building at 167 Ackerman Drive, in the industrial area east of Highway 99, Griffin said.
Williams was arrested on suspicion of burglary, possessing stolen property and possessing burglary tools.
At 2:20 a.m. Saturday, police arrested Mark Bracken, 34, of Lodi, who was carrying a backpack while walking through a neighborhood near Mills Avenue and Harney Lane, Griffin said.
Bracken was arrested on suspicion of auto burglary, possessing stolen property and prowling, Griffin said.
