Robert Jacobs: I'm just wondering why the CHP (who seem better trained and a bit more restrained most than most police agencies) would chase someone for ONLY a TRAFFIC INFRACTION at break neck speeds endangering the rest of the public. The fact is no CHP unit is going to even come close to catching up with a motorcycle! This is why they say you can't out run a Motorola. Most of the time you just wait until they wrap it around a tree and then scrape what's left of them off the roadway!
It's never justified chasing a person or persons who are only suspected of a traffic violation, its not worth the potential death or great bodily harm to innocent people that may very well come of it, that is law enforcement 101...

Kevin Paglia: A study done on motorcycle safty found that CAGERS cause MOST of the accidents involving motorcycles. Most common is cars turning left in front of motorcycles going straight. There is very little legal protection for motorcyclists for cagers who DELIBERATELY turn in front of them.
All that said. I still think these riders who go 130 mph, split between traffic at highway speeds and are, in general, obnoxious fellow road users make the rest of us look bad as well. This is a great example of 2% of a population making the whole look bad.

Kevin Paglia: Yup, head that name many times.
Of course we call car drivers "Cagers".
While many riders are hurt doing stupid things, MANY more are hurt by cagers not caring if they hurt riders. A couple months ago a tow truck driver rammed his truck through a funeral procession of riders (who were honoring a fallen brother who was run down in an intersection), killed three more riders. Why? Cause he got tired of waiting to get to lunch.
In Oregon there were several riders killed because a cager ASSUMED they were a motorcycle gang and ran his car through the group of them, killing a husband and wife and another man on a different bike. The driver got NO jail time.

Ed Walters: A short time ago a friend had a accident on his motor, he was taken to a trama center, as he laid on a gurney, a nurse informed him that there were 5 bike riders ahead of him and he would have to wait since he was the only one consicence. A common name for a motorcycle used by nurses is called a donor cycle.[sad]

Kevin Paglia: Why do some bikers feel the need to make the rest of us bikers look bad? Throw the book at him. Take his bike and his license.
