Visitation wll be held Thursday, Dec. 6 for Roy Marcum, the animal control officer fatally shot in Galt in the line of duty last week, according to the Sacramento County Animal Shelter.
It will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Lombard & Company Funeral Home, 1550 Fulton Ave., in Sacramento.
Marcum's memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Liberty Towers Church of The Nazarene, 5132 Elkhorn Blvd., also in Sacramento. A burial will follow at around 11 a.m. at East Lawn Cemetery.
A reception is set for noon Saturday, after the burial service at the shelter, 3839 Bradshaw Road, Sacramento.
Marcum, 41, of Elk Grove, was married with four children. He worked as an animal control officer for more than a decade and interacted with both Galt police officers and local citizens over the years, according to Galt Police Chief William Bowen.
Meanwhile, the arraignment of the man police believe killed Marcum is scheduled for today. Joseph Corey, 65, was booked Monday on several charges, including murder.
