The Cosumnes Fire Department wants to charge patients $143 for every 911 call that requires paramedic services. The first responder fee would affect calls in the Galt area.

The fee, designed to cover the costs of a fire truck or engine responding to advanced life-support calls will be discussed at the Cosumnes Community Services District meeting today. A public hearing has been tentatively set for July 16, with final adoption set for an August meeting.
