The Lodi Police Department held a public workshop at Lodi Lake on Wednesday aimed at making sure parents and guardians have working child safety seats and know how to properly secure them.
Police officers and volunteers checked 22 child safety seats and gave away seven during the two-hour event, Officer Eric Versteeg said. The seats were donated by the Sunrise Rotary, and the Lodi Police Officers Association and Costco made financial contributions to the event, he said.
