The Galt City Council on Tuesday gave a verbal commitment to fund up to $50,000 to help build the Fallen Heroes Memorial in honor of Galt K-9 Officer Kevin Tonn, who was killed in the line of duty in January 2013.

Also at Tuesday’s special meeting, council members provided input on how nearly $29 million should be spent each year in the city’s two-year budget. The final document will be presented to the city council for adoption at next week’s regular council meeting.
