The counter facing Elm Street at Scooters on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, is full of dishes and a microwave oven to keep it from being damaged by Sunday's flood. The Downtown eatery has been closed since Sunday, when a torrent of rainwater flooded the restaurant and banquet room.

While Lodi was being pelted by rain Sunday morning, Erin Smith thought she should arrive at her Downtown restaurant — just in case there were any problems. She made the right decision.
When she arrived at about 9 a.m. Sunday, Smith discovered that the floor to Scooters restaurant and banquet room was completely flooded. She says the storm cap in front of the banquet room entrance on Elm Street flew off during the gale-force winds, causing the water to enter the building.
