Mrs. S... By law, if there is no good shoulder, Bicycles get the whole lane. It is the Drivers who scare us with poor passing skills. Think about it - 4000lb Vehicle VS Bicycle? I thank you for your comment but don't get SBC confused with the plethora of nut-job law-breakers out there on the road.Educator - Bennie has been pretty darn good at everything he ever did as far as I can tell. Casting aspersions without facts is mean and demonstrates your stupidity.

Good for this guy!Sometimes, when I drive on rural roads outside of town, I encounter bike riders all decked out in racing gear. They're usually pretty good at sharing the road with cars, but occaisionally, they'll sort of swerve toward the center of the road. Scares me to death. Most are very safe, though.

I've ridden with Bennie. He often rides a single speed bike where your legs are working the entire time you are moving (no coasting!). His training ethics and motivation are superior to mine. Though I am younger in years, I feel like an old man when riding his wheel (or any of the SBC members). Next year.. maybe I can keep up.
