The rented silver Dodge Durango pulled up to Raley's in Galt, and several homeless men got out. They filed into the store, went to the pharmacy, and one by one asked to buy some Sudafed.
Current laws require people to show government-issued identification in order to buy cold medicine containing pseudoephedrine, the main ingredient used to make the illegal drug methamphetamine. The men complied and then, carrying their small pharmacy bags, they left the store and got back into the vehicle.

As usual, T&C has hit the nail on the head when he states that those that use Meth will not be deterred. Here`s the reason why, go to Google, and viola there is a complete list of ingredients for the making of Meth., and not all that hard to get either. The author even goes so far as to warm the apprentice Meth maker to be careful when making this crap not to blow up the room or house it is being made in. Once hooked, always hooked so don`t start, you can always tell a Meth head by looking at his tooth, if he has more that a couple he most likely flosses with a rope. Also, Atomic Bombs, hey no problem.

Boy, Mayor Shelton is sure crackin down on the crime in Galt. We've now become the dumping ground for the Central Valley. More gang violence, more property crimes, and now this. What's next? You've really let a lot of folks down by letting crime skyrocket these last 6 months. Please make some effort to fix it.

You get a 5 day supply when you buy. If more than one of you needs the decongestant, you're forced to pharmacy hop to get enough, if you are a single parent. That was bad enough. This is frustrating for those of us to depend on pseudoephedrine for severe allergies.

T & C is right. All this law does is make it more difficult and expensive for the law abiding people to get cold medicine.

Those who make their $$$ from "Meth" will not be deterred! Those who use Meth will not be deterred. As more and more police budgets shrink, Drug crimes will grow!
