Family, teachers say Angelica Osorio, killed Saturday, hoped to be a nurse
A photo of Angelica Osorio, 18, is surrounded by prayer candles at her family’s home on Garfield Street on Monday, March 12, 2012. Osorio was shot and killed outside her home late on Saturday, March 10, 2012. Her 17-year-old boyfriend also suffered multiple gun shot wounds, but he is expected to survive. Osorio, a Lodi High School graduate, was the first in her family to go to college, and encouraged her friends as well as her younger brothers and sisters to do the same.

This is very saddening to hear innocent people getting hurt and killed due to the escalating violence and crime in Lodi. I wish more could be done to prevent things like this from happening here in Lodi. Nobody deserves this kind of treatment when simply walking to a destination. I hope the city of Lodi can address the concerns for safety in this city that me and 60,000 others call home. Peace, love, and happiness for all. May Angelica rest in paradise.
