Classified employees in the Lodi Unified School District were expecting to hear a decision from the board on trustees about a grievance filed after several food service workers reported not getting their contracted break time. The CSEA has filed a Level IV grievance against the district, which brings the issue to the attention of the Board of Trustees. They did not review the issue in closed session Tuesday. Instead, a public hearing was held to allow comment on the issue. No one outside of union representatives spoke. The item will be on the closed session agenda next week.

Lodi Unified School District will enter the 2012-13 school year with a balanced budget after Tuesday's Board of Trustees meeting. But district staff say they can only guarantee a stable budget for another year unless the state makes some significant changes.
The budget was approved unanimously.
