North San Joaquin has spent nearly 60 years of working with water issues

The North San Joaquin district was created in 1948 and applied
for a permanent water supply from the Mokelumne River.
Eight years later, the state engineer - now the State Water
Resources Control Board - awarded the water right to the East Bay
Municipal Utility District for urban use in parts of Alameda and
Contra Costa County.
