After months of dry skies and not a drop of rain, wetter weather has finally hit Lodi.

Rain began falling Thursday afternoon, and according to Accuweather.com, a private forecasting service, it is expected to continue through the weekend.

Through Saturday, forecasters predict roughly 1.42 inches of rain for the Lodi area, with temperatures hovering right around 57 degrees.

Sunday and Monday could also see rain, with the skies finally clearing up around Tuesday morning.

Temperatures will continue to be in the mid- to upper 50s, with night temperatures dropping to near freezing.

Cooler but sunny weather is expected to continue through next week before possible showers hit Lodi again at the beginning of February.
