Police arrested two men who they say broke into Lockeford area schools and stole computers, as well as items from several other businesses in the area.

On Sept. 14, San Joaquin County Sheriff's deputies searched Thomas Strong's home in the 13800 block of East Church Street, because they believed he was involved in the theft of computers from local schools. Officers arrested Strong, 27, and also confiscated other items they felt were of questionable ownership.

Officers continued to investigate and located a victim who identified the items as stolen.

On Sept. 27, investigators returned to the Church Street address and the garage, which they said previously had questionable items, was cleared out.

Detectives said they found a security camera and discovered that it was stolen from The Country Store in Clements the previous day. Officers also say they found additional items that belonged to Joe's Country Coffee, a closed business in Clements.

Investigators checked video surveillance from The Country Store and identified 42-year-old Richard Davis as a suspect. He was allegedly walking in the area right before the theft occurred.

Officers found Davis at Strong's home and arrested them both. Strong was booked on three counts of possession of known stolen property over $400. Davis was booked for one count of possession of known stolen property, one count of burglary and one count of grand theft.
