Due to insufficient evidence, sexual assault charges against a 19-year-old Acampo male will not be filed, according to the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office.
Brian Ciaramitaro was arrested by the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department and booked into county jail on Monday. He was held there for more than 24 hours before prosecutors decided not to press charges.
The incident, reported by a 19-year-old woman, was alleged to have taken place at a house party on the 20000 block of North Highway 99 in which alcohol was present.
But a prosecutor said there weren’t enough specific details to confirm the allegations were true.
“We did not pursue the case because due to the insufficiency of evidence, there was not a reasonable likelihood of conviction,” said Kristine Reed, deputy district attorney for San Joaquin County.
