The House of Representatives on Thursday passed the Better Buildings Act of 2013, which includes language authored by Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Stockton. McNerney’s amendment adds cost-effective water efficiency measures to the bipartisan legislation, which now goes to the Senate for debate and passage.
“I’m pleased that my amendment was included as part of the final bill,” McNerney said in a news release. “California’s water supply is increasingly vulnerable because of the devastating drought. Now more than ever, we must do all we can to increase water efficiency and availability.”
