Additional fundraisers other than those appearing in Friday’s News-Sentinel have been planned to help pay funeral costs for the six members of the Miranda-Rodriguez family killed in Tuesday’s traffic accident at Ham Lane and Vine St., and to help support 9-year-old Eden Miranda, who survived the crash that took the lives of his parents, brothers and sister.
On Saturday, Oct. 26 a car wash and raffle will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the IHOP restaurant located at 1230 W. Kettleman Lane.
Gift baskets donated by local stores such as Walmart and Food-4-Less will be raffled off during the car wash.
St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Lodi will host a taco dinner fundraiser in its parish hall from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday.
The event is open to the public. The tickets for the fundraising dinner are $8 per person. St. Anne’s Catholic Church is located at 215 W. Walnut St.
The Deshmesh Darbar Temple will be hosting a donation drive from the members of the local Sikh community, according Kuldeep Dhatt, president of the temple’s board of trustees. Deshmesh Darbar is located at 12098 N. West Lane.
Cilantro’s Bar and Lounge, in conjunction with the Central California Youth Academy, a Stockton-based boxing school, will be holding a car wash at Cilantro’s on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Organizers are asking for a donation for the car wash and will be giving out free menudo.
Cilantro’s is located at 211 S. Cherokee Lane in Lodi.
