A weathered cemetery near Galt is in need of fixing up, and Eric Schneider says he's the man for the job. Schneider will be taking over the care of Elliott Cemetery.

To start off his service, Schneider has arranged a clean-up day this weekend. He needs Weed Whackers with their own lines and fuel, and the help of volunteers willing to get their hands dirty. Helpers will receive a hot dog lunch courtesy of Miller Meats.

The service day begins at 8 a.m. Saturday. Elliott Cemetery is located on the south side of Liberty Road, just west of Elliott Road. The closest business is Rausser Bros. Trucking at 12000 E. Liberty Road. Call Schneider at 209-747 1053 for more information.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
