Third-grade teacher Nancy Cadena, 47, was shopping at her school's book fair last year when something snagged her attention.

The book, called "Problems with Pete the Pencil and Eddie the Eraser," told the story of a mischievous pencil and eraser who compete with each other to earn their owner's attention.

I think this book is spreading nonsense. I have never liked Pluto. It always has this smartalick stuck up look and attitude. I am glad Pluto is no longer a planet; it never should have been. The children should be writing about something worthy of a book.

What an accomplishment! Congratulations to Mrs. Cadena and her third grade class!!! If I recall correctly Mrs. Cadena taught at Lawrence school for some time (after my time at Lawrence) and she has always been exceptional with her students. I think that I even gave a Drug / Self Awareness presentation to one of her classes at Lawrence during my Junior year in 1993. Great job!

All we need is a book, some bricks, and a firetruck.
