Emily Marino, a volunteer with Mothers Against Drunk Driving, has rescheduled the silent auction to benefit the Walk Like MADD 5K in October. She had planned to hold the auction at the Lodi Grape Festival, but that is not permitted.

Instead, a viewing party will be held on Sept. 20 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Taste of Heaven in Downtown Lodi.

The silent auction will be conducted through email and Facebook, and will run from 4 p.m. on Sept. 20 until noon on Sept. 22. A Giants baseball basket, including tickets to a game, will be auctioned off on Sunday.

Marino has collected baskets full of donations from Modesto to Davis for the auction, and will show some of the baskets during the festival. Contact Marino at emilyismadd@gmail.com or at www.facebook.com/emilyismadd.

They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
