The headhunting firm tasked with finding a new superintendent for the Galt Joint Union High School District will review applications alongside board members Friday.
Interviews are scheduled for June 22.
Trustees hired the firm Leadership Associates to find a replacement by July for retiring Superintendent Daisy Lee. The company could charge as much as $21,500 for the expedited service.
It held a community input forum late last month to seek input on what characteristics it should look for in a new superintendent. The community is invited to a forum next week to share what personal and professional qualities would make an incoming superintendent a good match for Galt.
Individual input from community members including parents, employees and others interested in the district was also sought through an online survey. Information was unavailable.
Trustees have said they would like a new superintendent in place by July 1.
Final interviews were tentatively scheduled for June 9. It's unclear why the date was pushed back, and a representative from Leadership Associates could not be reached.
The process was discussed in closed session at Tuesday's school board meeting, but no information was released publicly.
Lee, who announced in March that she plans to retire at the end of the school year to take care of a young grandchild, was hired from a Modesto school district after a months-long search, also by Leadership Associates. She has been in the position for two years.
Lee's last day is June 30.
