After considerable debate Tuesday night, the San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation Commission voted 5-2 to request opening the Woodbridge Wilderness Area every weekend from May through October.
The county-owned wilderness area, located between Woodbridge Road and the Mokelumne River in the River Meadows subdivision, has been open the past three years on the first and third weekends of each month as volunteers staff the entry gate.
