Sheriff’s deputies arrested four men they believe are responsible for robbing a fast-food restaurant in Flag City west of Lodi at gunpoint Wednesday night.
According to Deputy Les Garcia, spokesman for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, two men wearing masks and armed with handguns entered the Carl’s Jr. on West Banner Street around 10:40 p.m. Wednesday.
One suspect pointed a gun at an employee and ordered him to open the safe and cash register, Garcia said. The other suspected gunman ordered the witnesses into the restaurant’s kitchen, Garcia said.
The men collected money from the cash register and safe, then fled and jumped into a white Chevy Impala, according to Garcia.
Sheriff’s deputies soon spotted an Impala matching the description of the suspects’ vehicle driving south on Interstate 5 near Mathews Road. Deputies searched the car and found clothing matching the description of the suspects, along with money, rolled coins, two firearms and a safe from Carl’s Jr., Garcia said.
Deputies arrested Victor Gardner Jr., 19, Johnnie Brown III, 19, Ronald Mann, 19, and Oneal Heard, 18. All four men were booked into San Joaquin County Jail on suspicion of robbery, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and carrying a firearm with the intent to commit a felony.
