Classified and certificated employees of the Galt Joint Union High School District will work two fewer days this school year under separate contracts unanimously approved Tuesday by the school board.
The one-year contracts, signed by representatives on Aug. 28, call for the restoration of the furlough days if the state school funding initiative is approved by voters in November. If not, employees will not work on May 23 and May 24.
Managers will also be affected by the furlough days.
Combined, the furlough days will save the district approximately $125,600.
