A Galt man was arrested Monday on suspicion of setting two fires in Galt and one in Rio Linda in July, according to John Michelini, deputy chief of the Cosumnes Community Services District's fire department.

The fire department arrested Adam Gene Kelly, 20, who allegedly set two fires in Galt that had minimal damage, Michelini said. He confessed to a setting a small fire on July 13 to clothing against the building of a care home where he was living, Michelini said. The care home is at 751 Moose Creek Way, southeast of Highway 99 and Twin Cities Road.

While being questioned for a July 22 grass fire in Rio Linda, Kelly admitted to setting the group home fire and one on July 6 in the service area of Raley's supermarket, 10630 Twin Cities Road, Michelini said.

The Rio Linda fire threatened three residences and three barns, Cosumnes Fire Capt. Brett Schurr said.

Kelly was booked at Rio Cosumnes Correction Center in Elk Grove on three counts of arson. Bail has been set at $50,000, Michelini said.

Galt police and Sacramento Metro Fire District personnel assisted Cosumnes investigators in the incident, Schurr said.
