Stroll into spring as the Lodi Chamber of Commerce celebrates its 20th annual School Street Wine Stroll on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. in Downtown Lodi.

During the stroll, wineries will be paired with merchants for an evening of wine, food, shopping and entertainment.

More than 25 of Lodi's wineries will be pouring many of their best wines in boutiques and shops throughout Downtown. Local stores will be serving hors d'oeurves at each tasting stop, along with lots of entertainment.

The Lodi region is thrilled to showcase its finest in cuisine, wine and hospitality during the Wine Stroll.

Vintners will be on hand to pour a myriad of varietals and vintages from the Lodi Appellation.

The Lodi Wine Region boasts 75 wineries, 60 varietals and 100,000 acres of wine grapes. Wineries will be showcasing not only the well-known varietals such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay, but also many unique varietals such as Verdelho, Carignan and Nebbiolo.

Many tasting rooms and restaurants will remain open following the event.

Tickets are $30 in advance or $40 at the event. Designated driver tickets are $10 in advance or $20 at the event.

Lodi hotels are offering special discounts for overnight visits. The hotel packages begin at $125, and include: two Wine Stroll tickets, hotel for one night (double occupancy), transportation to and from the hotel, and breakfast.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
