It was hot enough in Lodi to fry an egg — on the hood of my jeep
I attempt to fry an egg on the hood of my car Wednesday afternoon during the area's stretch of high temperatures. (Brian Feulner/News-Sentinel)

FROM EDITOR RICH HANNER:I want to thank Brian for a bright feature. He not only shot the photos, but wrote a short story and prepared a video version, too, all under deadline pressure. In my view, he showed a sense of humor and a bunch of initiative. I liked the package, and I'm sure many readers did, too. Trying to provide fresh angles on the weather is always a challenge. We are wide open to reader suggestions.

Bob Loblaw, I have to say you have some of the best blogs ever. I get a good chuckle out most of them. Thank you.

Perhaps a good (if not trite) idea for a column. But the placement really does make Lodi seem like a one-horse town.

In the time it took you people to read and complain about this article, you could have been out in the community making a difference.

.Ok, so you answered a question I have long sought an answer for:"Is the News Sentinel 'Chief Photographer' job a full time position?"Apparently not, as you seem to have a LOT of free time on your hands! :)

Hey revolver: your are obvioulsy a proponent of mediocrity. At the top of the paper it reads "NEWS" in big bold letters. This supposed article was not news!

You people are ridiculous. Obviously this is meant to be a light-hearted, fluff story meant for a good laugh. And this is Lodi. If nothing happens then nothing happens. They can't make up exciting news out of nothing.

I tried to bring home some hamburger from Food 4 Less yesterday on a bus WITHOUT A/C, but the hambugrer cooked and was done before I got to the bus station! The up side, was that I didn't have to cook the hamburger on my stove and heat up my place!

Well that explains a lot. Not only is this considered a front page story, but the reporter thinks its a cool idea to spray Pam and plop an egg on the hot painted surface of his car. Then he eats it. What is your point, Brian? Are you are trying to prove it is hot in Lodi in July? (Duh, that is a no brainer.) Or that you know how to ruin the paint on your car? (Another no brainer?)Either way, LNS, how about some real reporting. Why do I have to read the Record to find out what is going on in Lodi?

Ya, I'm sure spraying Pam on your paint is really good for it, not to mention an egg frying on your paint. I wouldn't do that, even on an Audi 5000.

Yawn.... a real slow news day in the bustling metropolis of Lodi.Whaddya do, recycle this story every seven years or so?

Fantastic story. Yesterday I whipped up a nice meat loaf casserole. I put the dish inside my trunk, and baked it for about 3-4 hours. It turned out so juicy, and i didn't even use my oven.
