Rep. Jerry McNerney, D-Stockton, will host a roundtable discussion at Stagg High School on Tuesday to encourage greater public education in science, technology, engineering and math.
McNerney said in a news release that it is critical for students to learn more about science and math to prepare them for 21st century jobs.
The roundtable will include representatives from the San Joaquin County Office of Education, University of the Pacific, San Joaquin Delta College, Stagg High School and University of California, Merced.
The roundtable will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday in the Stagg High auditorium, 1621 Brookside Road, Stockton. A networking hour will be held after the roundtable.
