The syndicated traveling cooking show “Bringing it Home” with host Laura McIntosh recorded an episode at Sorelle Winery in Stockton on Tuesday.

The episode will air July 3 at 5 p.m. on ABC. Tuesday’s taping featured a flag-raising ceremony by the United States Marine Corps color guard and summer-themed recipes such as fried chicken, grilled watermelon and barbecue ribs with root beer sauce.

The episode featured a patriotic theme because it will air right before Independence Day, said Kathryn Snyder, social media director for “Bringing it Home.”

Representatives of the Daughters of the American Revolution were present to tape a segment for the show about the historical plaque the group dedicated at the winery in October on Tuesday. The plaque designates the land the winery sits on as a location where John C. Fremont and his men stayed one evening as they returned to Kansas.

Fremont and his men were mapping the West when they stayed on land where Sorelle now sits. Sorelle Winery specializes in Italian varietals. Its tasting room is located at 9599 N. Highway 88. For more information, call 209-931-4350.

Should graduations return to the Grape Bowl?

Lodi Unified leaders are moving Lodi and Tokay high school graduations from the Grape Bowl to the Spanos Center at UOP in Stockton. They cite limited seating, costs and unpredictable weather at the Grape Bowl. But others say graduations at the Grape Bowl are an important Lodi tradition, and one reason many supported renovating the stadium. What do you think?
