After completing four months of training, five new Lodi firefighters start working regular 24-hour shifts today.

The five men, all in their 20s, have been training at the Stockton Fire Department's academy, which includes work in Lodi. Last week they trained in Lodi to get a feel for the department's way of doing things, and they finished the training Friday.

Educated reader: apparently your name is a misnomer: one can be discharged from the militray for medical reasons for simply getting Mono...or a million other things that the military doesnt want to deal with but that would NOT prevent someone from being successful in another physical field. Ask to see Cameron's test scores(this includes grueling physical demands)that he had to take like everyone else and I bet they are at the top. Personally it's nice to see a new generation actually following in their parent's great example of civil service. Good Luck guys!

Nice to see that someone ejected from the military for "medical reasons" can get a spot on the Lodi force because his dad is a Captain. How does that work? GOB network does wonders!

To the new firefighters of Lodi, best of everything to you, and above all, remember "Stay Low" You look like you can handle any situation, while I know you are there for the people of Lodi, hopefully I won`t need you, but if I do I know I can count on you to be there for me and all the citizens of Lodi. God Bless you
