North San Joaquin Water Conservation District board members will discuss whether to participate in a demonstration groundwater recharge project to produce more well water in north San Joaquin County.

The board, which serves eastern portions of Lodi generally east of Ham Lane, plus rural areas north and east of Lodi, will hear a presentation on groundwater banking by the San Joaquin County Groundwater Banking Authority at Monday night’s meeting.

In other action, the board will consider:

  • Spending $3,000 to have the district’s files organized.
  • Scheduling presentation and training for board members on their responsibilities to the district, conflict of interest, the Brown Act, ethics and district bylaws and policies.
  • Selling a district-owned pick-up truck.
  • Discussing a response to a county Grand Jury report about the North San Joaquin district. This will be discussed behind closed doors.

Monday’s meeting, open to the public, will begin at 6 p.m. at the Lodi Public Library community room, 201 W. Locust St.

The grand jury is constantly investigating this bunch of rumored crooks. Is the city of Lodi still paying their $200,000 a year water tax? This is the most dysfunctional group I've seen since the Northern CA Power Assn.
