It was a frigid 27 degrees in Lodi this morning, and according to meteorologists, that trend is expected to continue.
Temperatures will remain in the midto high-20s through this morning before things start to slightly warm up tonight.
But do not expect things to get pleasantly warm, said Ken Clark, senior meteorologist for Accuweather.com, a private forecasting service.
According to Clark, temperatures will just break 32 degrees at night, and cold temperatures during the day will continue throughout the week.
While freeze warnings have not been issued for the area, Clark said, he recommended Lodi residents still drive extra carefully, as frost is expected to build up over the next few days.
During colder months, it is highly recommended that residents properly and efficiently use space heaters as well as natural gas heaters, said Rob Lechner, the manager of customer service and programs for Lodi's electric utility.
In addition to turning down thermostats at night and when residents head out for the day, Lechner said to close blinds at night to keep the warm air in, and to dress in layers.
