Former Assemblyman and Board of Equalization member Dean Andal has endorsed Leroy Ornellas for the open seat in the newly created 5th Senate District.
And Cathleen Galgiani has announced the endorsement of the Professional Engineers in California Government. The group represents 13,000 state-employed engineers and related professionals responsible for designing and inspecting state highways and bridges, ensuring that schools and hospitals are earthquake-safe and protecting the air, water and beaches from pollution.
Galgiani, a Democrat from Livingston who plans to move to Stockton, is an Assemblywoman who will term out of her Assembly seat at the end of 2012.
Ornellas, a Republican, is a dairy farmer who serves on the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors.
Another Republican, Assemblyman Bill Berryhill of Ceres, is seeking the 5th Senate District seat in the 2012 elections.
