Bass Derby had something for everyone on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011.

Paul Koval, senior pastor at Springs Christian Fellowship in
Morada, is a happy man after winning the sturgeon competition for
the second time in three years at the Rio Vista Bass Derby on
Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011. Don Schwinn, a member of the Springs
Christian congregation, placed third. The two of them fish
together.

Moe Adams shortly before awards were announced at the Rio Vista
Bass Derby on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2011. Ashcroft won $2,461 for
catching the heaviest striped fish in the "high roller" category.
Adams took second place for catching an 18.8-pound salmon, earning
her $250.

Robert Ashcroft thought he was going to have a bass striper just
the right size on Saturday, but come Sunday morning he discovered
another angler caught a fish one-sixteenth of an inch larger than
his.
