If you thought last weekend was cold, prepare for even lower temperatures tonight.

According to AccuWeather.com, a private weather forecasting service, temperatures are expected to drop to 26 degrees Saturday night, about 12 degrees below the average temperature this time of year for Lodi. Last year's nighttime temperature on Dec. 7 was 42 degrees.

Ah, yes, Mike. the snow in 1968. Several classmates built a snowman on the trunk of Mrs. Bechtold's Thunderbird at Clements School before class that morning. It also snowed in the northwest part of Galt in 1988,just enough for a longtime friend and I to throw a couple of snowballs at each other.

I don't know if this is correct article or not, or maybe the historical reference to 12-20-68, but let me share this with you. Those of us who grew up here (and are old enough) remember the day it snowed in 1968. The day we were getting out for Christmas break, like talk about coincidences!!

Well not many know, or are aware that on that same date in 1998 it also snowed here. Not enough to stick and you only would have seen it had you been outside on that Sunday afternoon, but it did snow.

Let's keep our fingers crossed for 12-20-2028!
