The Galt City Council could decide tonight whether to spend an additional $19,500 for an alternative site for a proposed Regional Law Enforcement Training Center and firing range.
Construction discussions began in 2010, but there have been issues with the original site, including environmental concerns regarding nearby wetlands. The city council approved the original $37,000 contract during the original discussions.
At tonight’s meeting, council members are also scheduled to:
- Receive a status report on the Fallen Heroes Memorial planned to be erected at City Hall.
- Adjust rental fees at the Galt Market for January and February.
- Receive a report on the Galt Police Department’s Citizens Assisting in Police Services program.
Today’s city council meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the Galt City Council chambers at City Hall, 380 Civic Drive, Galt.
