Hundreds of uniformed public safety personnel streamed into Adventure Christian Church on Monday to pay their final respects to fallen Galt Police Officer Kevin Andrew Tonn. They publicly remembered a man who had dedicated his life to serving others at a young age.
The 35-year-old was fatally shot in the line of duty a week ago today, when he approached Humphrey Gascon II to ask him about a burglary in the area of F and 2nd streets in Galt. After firing one round at Tonn, Gascon took his own life, Galt police said.

A K-9 is an officers best friend while on duty and would give his life for his partner. Now that Yaro is without a partner, it is my hope that he will have a chance to continue to serve, as I understand he is not ready to retire, along with receiving the very best of care. I have had dogs for over 40 years, many times two or more at a time. If I should loose my Labs and Yaro was available I would be the first in line to adopt him as he deserves the very best of care until he draws his last breath. If you haven`t had dogs through thick and thin, along with putting them down when the time came, you really don`t know dogs, other than my wife, they are my best friends.
