Man arrested on charges of child abuse

A Lodi resident was arrested Dec. 8 for alleged sexual abuse of a 14- to 15-year old child, and he also faces charges with younger children.

Armando Cervantes, 28, was arrested on the 10000 block of East Live Oak Road in Lodi by the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department.

He has been charged with sexual penetration by a foreign object by force or fear, continual sexual abuse of a child, a sex crime with a child 14 to 15 years old and three or more sexual acts with a child under 14 years old.

Cervantes is scheduled to appear in Lodi court on Dec. 28.
