The public is invited to a presentation on the effects of illegal prescription drugs this evening, sponsored by the Galt Police Department. The focus will be on the dangers of teens taking drugs out of their home’s medicine cabinet and selling them, according to Chief William Bowen.

The presentation will include information from both a medical and criminal perspective, and hear from local officers making street-level arrests. Officers will also touch on the impact of drug addiction, how it affects criminal behavior from violent crimes to property crimes, who uses drugs and who is arrested on the street with prescription medications and other narcotics.
