Tokay High School junior Michael Roush told San Joaquin County Parks and Recreation commissioners about his Eagle Scout project — a disc golf course at Micke Grove Park.
Disc golf involves throwing discs into a metal container rather than hitting golf balls into a hole. The project, completed in 2012, comes at no cost to taxpayers. It received overwhelming support from commissioners.
"This course is already extremely popular," said Parks and Recreation supervisor Duncan Jones.
Roush is a member of the Lodi First Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
