The arrest of a 20-year-old Oakdale man has authorities warning parents about their children's Facebook and other social networking pages.

Donnell Young was arrested Friday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old Stockton-area girl he met on Facebook, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office.

Using an alias, Young built a rapport with the girl and introduced a fictitious friend who saw the victim's pictures and wanted to meet her, according to sheriff's spokesman Les Garcia. Authorities allege that Young sexually assaulted the girl, requested nude photos and was "sexting" with her.

There may be additional victims, but there is no concrete evidence that there is more than one, Garcia said.

The incident illustrates that parents should read their children's Facebook pages and monitor what their children read on the Internet, Garcia said.

Anyone with information on other potential victims may contact Detective Terry Renberg at 209-468-4424. Refer to case No. 12-1743.
