Highway 12 fixes set for completion in late 2016

Construction of long-awaited safety improvements on a five-mile stretch of Highway 12 west of Tower Park Marina should begin by about the end of the year, according to the California Department of Transportation.

Caltrans officials in Stockton will take about 30 days to award a construction contract, with the project to begin within 55 working days after that, according to Chantel Miller, Caltrans chief of public and legislative affairs in Stockton. A late-2016 completion date is expected, Miller said.
