Lodi Police Department

In the 48 hours since 4 p.m. Tuesday, the Lodi Police Department handled 574 calls for service. The following is a sample of calls received by dispatchers:


4:11 p.m.: Juveniles were skateboarding off ramps on vacant land under construction on Poppy Drive off Harney Lane. The property owner was afraid they would get hurt.

4:37 p.m.: More skateboarders were causing trouble, this time by interfering with a summer program for children at Legion Park, 835 S. Hutchins St.

7:27 p.m.: A red-haired, red-shirted 22-year-old woman was yelling and calling people names in an apartment complex in the 200 block of North Washington Street.

9:45 p.m.: A drunk man vandalized a man's apartment in the 1500 block of South Cherokee Lane.

10:33 p.m.: People were using a loud saw in the 1600 block of Sutter Lane.

11:19 p.m.: Two vehicles were stolen and a residence was burglarized in the 700 block of North Mills Avenue.

11:22 p.m.: Someone was assaulted in the 1300 block of West Century Boulevard.

11:58 p.m.: Two males in tank tops were trying to get a neighbor in the 400 block of North School Street to come outside and fight them.


6:47 a.m.: A man was cutting down a tree and got into an argument with another man in the 500 block of Calaveras Street.

6:51 a.m.: Tires were slashed on two vehicles, including a city car, in the 400 block of Rutledge Drive.

7:14 a.m.: At least five people reported that their tires were slashed in the area of Oxford Way and Allen Drive.

8:53 a.m.: Property valued at more than $400 was stolen at Tokay High School, 1111 W. Century Blvd.

9:28 a.m.: Check Into Cash, 720 S. Cherokee Lane, was burglarized.

11:02 a.m.: Rashid Imports, 27 S. Sacramento St., was burglarized again.

11:52 a.m.: A dark blue 1987 Chevy was stolen in the 1000 block of South Garfield Street.

12:36 p.m.: Transients were hosing themselves off and drinking in a front yard in the 300 block of South Main Street.

1:25 p.m.: Juveniles were fighting at Lakewood Mall.

1:29 p.m.: A tractor was impeding traffic as it drove north on Lower Sacramento Road near Kettleman Lane.

2:20 p.m.: Passengers were on a Grapeline city bus when it was involved in an accident near Lodi and Central avenues. A red vehicle fled the scene.

2:27 p.m.: A blonde woman who was possibly under the influence of drugs was screaming at traffic near Star Market, 741 S. Cherokee Lane.

3:11 p.m.: After purchasing a gold Corvette, a man tried to register the vehicle in San Andreas. He was told that the vehicle had been reported stolen in Lodi, so he went to the Police Department, 215 W. Elm St.

3:15 p.m.: Officers were asked to cite a tow truck near Central Avenue and Pine Street that had expired registration tags.

4:20 p.m.: A man was sitting with one leg extended out of a black sedan on Lodi Avenue near Beckman Road.

4:30 p.m.: A backpack was stolen at Tokay High School, 1111 W. Century Blvd.

4:51 p.m.: A gun and ammunition in the 400 block of Almond Drive needed to be destroyed.

5:37 p.m.: Someone was assaulted with a club in the 600 block of Windsor Drive.


7:03 a.m.: A young man was sleeping in the doorway of Thornton House Furniture, 6 S. School St.

11:57 a.m.: Four possibly drunk and homeless people with shopping carts were arguing in the middle of the roadway in the 400 block of Hilborn Street.

2:54 p.m.: An employee at Golden Era Hotel brandished a knife during an argument 25 minutes earlier.

3:12 p.m.: A gun in the 800 block of Tilden Drive needed to be disposed of.
